Dog Crates Provide Security

In contrast to the popular opinion that dog crates are cruel, a dog crate can provide your pet with security and safety.  Dogs naturally like to hole up in dens, and in the wild they do just that.  In the modern world, pets are pampered and adored, but they still need their own special space.

Dog crates can be used for a variety of purposes.  A dog crate can be placed in your car to safely transport your dog from place to place.  You can keep a crate in a quiet room giving your pet a place to go and be alone or calm down.  A crate can be used to restrain a dog when you need to be out of the house, if you are unsure of how they will react to being alone.

A dog crate should be only large enough for your dog to stand up, turn around and lay down.  Place a comfortable pad inside the crate as well as some water and a variety of their favorite toys.  One of the best ways to keep a dog busy in a crate is to pack peanut butter into a sterilized beef bone.  This can keep your pet interested for a very long time.

Dog crates come in a number of styles.  From the standard plastic unit which is inexpensive and sturdy, to wire on up to custom made wooden dog crates units that blend seamlessly with your furniture.  A dog crate is an important accessory giving both you and your pet comfort and privacy.
